CNA Centennial 100 Awards Recipients

We are delighted to announce that the CNIA nominee, our own Founding President, Dr. Lynn Nagle has
been awarded top recognition by being named one of the Canadian Nurses’ Associations’ Centennial 100 Award recipients. “The Centennial Awards are a one-time award created to celebrate 100 exceptional registered nurses whose personal and professional contributions have made an outstanding and significant impact on the nursing profession.” ( CNA Centennial Awards Introduction). The CNIA elected to nominate Lynn for her tireless devotion to the creation, evolution, and nurturance of the CNIA – we would never have made it this far without her. She has been a powerful catalyst for Nursing Informatics growth in Canada, and we are sure that she will continue to be one for years to come.

We also wish to recognize another worthy recipient of the CNA Centennial 100 Awards, Dr. Kathryn Hannah. Dr. Hannah is well known for being one of the leading pioneers of nursing informatics theory and practice in Canada. She has devoted many decades of hard work and celebrated thinking to lead nursing informatics across this nation. We were thrilled to hear that she was also given this high honour for her tireless devotion and for inspiring the upcoming generations of Canadian nursing informaticians. I think it is safe to say, that every Canadian nurse who is interested or experienced in nursing informatics gleaned at least some of their knowledge from Dr. Hannah’s work.

CNIA Profiled in The Canadian Nurse May 2008

We were pleased to have the CNIA featured in The Canadian Nurse – Access section in May 2008. The CNIA is an active associate group of the CNA, and it was a postive token of recognition to be included in the association’s journal. You can view the Profile in the May 2008 paper issue on Page 19, or online in the CNA Access May 2008 release (go to last page – page 9).

All the best,

CJNI Editor In Chief,
CNIA President
