Canadian Journal of Nursing Informatics

About CJNI

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Organizations such as the  Canadian Nurses Association encourage nurses across Canada to learn, share, research, and create informatics-related projects and experiences that can help to boost the competencies, theory, and practice of informatics on a national level. To support these endeavors, the idea of a Canadian Journal of Nursing Informatics (CJNI) was conceived to become an on-line publication available to anyone interested in the evolving field of nursing informatics.

To provide an expert foundation and management team, an Editorial Board has been configured. The Board is ready to work with authors to showcase their work in an expert and professional manner. In the coming months and years, we intend to develop the CJNI into a dynamic vehicle to support Nursing Informatics research and experiences, lived by many nurses in Canada and around the globe.

This journal’s journey continues to evolve. We intend to fashion useful columns that will focus on new ideas and breakthroughs in informatics in practice, education, research and administration. We will provide various reviews of pertinent informatics books, software, web sites, nursing information systems, multimedia and other resources. We will also solicit academic, research, and practice related papers, presentations, and detailed abstracts that present new work done in the informatics field. Opinion pieces, essays, and news announcements will also be included.

To make this journal all it can be, we encourage You to consider submitting some of your work for future issues. Please take some time to view the Call for Submissions and Submission guideline pages.

Our Mission

CJNIThe Mission of The Canadian Journal of Nursing Informatics is to provide a peer-reviewed venue for Canadian nurses and researchers who work with Nursing Informatics to disseminate their research, essays, reviews, presentations, multimedia and other digital publishable materials on a global scale. We have decided to offer this journal free of charge in order to make informatics research and theory openly available to all Canadian nurses.

We encourage researchers, educators, and experimenters at all levels of expertise to feel confident in submitting their work for review. It is our mission to support fledgling as well as seasoned researchers in showcasing their work within the on-line environment. The Canadian Journal of Nursing Informatics (CJNI) serves as an on-line publication available to anyone interested in the evolving field of nursing informatics.
