AWARD RECIPIENT

Past President, Dr. Lynn Nagle won the Leadership in the Field of Health Informatics Award

The first annual Canadian Health Informatics Awards Gala, held in Toronto on November 24, 2005, celebrated excellence and achievement in the Canadian healthcare informatics community and honoured outstanding individuals, teams and companies. The Gala, co-hosted by Canada’s Health Informatics Association (COACH) and the Canadian Healthcare Information Technology Trade Association (CHITTA) was attended by over 225 healthcare informatics professionals.

Lynn Nagle, RN PhD, Consultant, Nagle & Associates Inc., Senior Nursing Advisor to Canada Health Infoway, Professor at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto, and our Immediate Past President of the Canadian Nursing Informatics Association won the Leadership in the Field of Health Informatics Award. Lynn was until recently the Senior Vice President for Technology and Information Management at Mount Sinai Hospital, in Toronto.

Dr. Lynn Nagle recently established her own consulting practice under Nagle & Associates Inc. She is currently providing consulting on issues and initiatives related to nursing and health informatics. Her work as a clinician, educator, researcher and administrator has provided her with a broad-based perspective of healthcare delivery and information needs. In her current capacity, she is providing strategic, educational, and operational consulting for a variety of clients at a local, provincial and national level.

We warm-heartedly extend sincere Congratulations to Lynn for this honour! We know first-hand how dedicated she is to promoting and shaping Nursing Informatics in Canada.
